Twin
Dragons Martial Arts & Fitness is holding their annual St. Jude
Festival & Break A Thon to raise money for St. Jude Children's
Research Hospital. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, founded by
the late entertainer Danny Thomas, treats about 180 patients every
day on an outpatient basis and maintains 60 inpatient beds. St. Jude
is the first institution established for the sole purpose of
conducting basic and clinical research into
catastrophic childhood diseases, mainly cancer. It treats children
without regard to race, religion, creed or ability to pay. The
hospital's daily operating costs are
approximately $1,027,832, which are primarily covered by public
contribution.
Ms. Cassandra Kimmerly, Program Director of
Twin Dragons said, "As part of our belief in developing the whole
person, our students will be raising money to help other children.
Setting goals, working to achieve them, and caring about others are
what we expect from our students and this event will help support
that Martial Arts Spirit."
