Jacob's Walk

Twin Dragons student Jacob H. Kelley joined the JDRF Walk for Diabetes on October 30th, 2011 and raised over $200 for research to fight Juvenile Diabetes.  He met his goal but there's still time to make a donation and help him exceed his goal and help fight the disease that has changed his family.  Read Jacob's story and learn how to make a donation.

Twin Dragons Martial Arts & Fitness offers "Motivation Talks" to local schools, churches and organizations. These talks can be held at our studio or at your location. Twin Dragons also offers specific "Personal Safety" presentations for children and adults. Some of these presentations have been in the areas of women's safety, child safety, keychain defense, and cane defense. For more information or to schedule one of our "Motivation Talks" or safety presentations, please contact Cassandra Kimmerly at twindragons@hotmail.com  or call 803-649-1673.

Black Belt Testing, A Family Affair

Black Belt Testing, A Family Affair
Most Black Belts have family members at their Black Belt test to be supportive and loving reminders of why we push ourselves to become better and stronger than we were before we started our training. They keep us motivated and encourage us as we begin one of the most physically and mentally challenging tests of our lives. Their pride in us keeps us going when we think we can go no further. Their smiling faces are the first thing we look for when it is over. In the case of the Davis/Larson Family, there won't be many members left to sit in the stands. Dr. Janet Davis and three of her children will all be testing during the upcoming Black Belt Test this April. Dr. Davis and her thirteen year old daughter Cassia Larson will be testing for E Dan (Second Degree Black Belt) and her ten year old twins, Haydon and Samantha will be testing for Cho Dan (First Degree Black Belt). All four have been members of the Twin Dragons Demo Team for over three years and have been valuable members of the studio and the WTSDA Region 7. The twins started in the Little Dragons program and eventually joined their mother and sister in the regular martial arts classes. This busy family also rides horses and performs with a local dance studio. Anyone who thinks they cannot make time for martial arts should meet this family.

"One of the best things about Tang Soo Do is the family-oriented training environment. Cassia and I have been training together for five years, and the twins, Samantha and Haydon, have been training with us since they graduated from Little Dragons at age 6. I can't tell you how many times one of us was discouraged or lacking motivation, but since we went as a family, we all went to class together. I feel so lucky to always have another family member to go over new techniques with, or to practice with to get ready for a test or a competition. There's no doubt in my mind that training as a family has been the reason why we have all been so successful and have been able to stick with Tang Soo Do during those times when it gets tough! I am so grateful for my families, both biological and Twin Dragons!"  - Janet Davis

Training together is a great example of family fitness and safety. Being a part of a family martial arts studio and a world-wide association that promotes friends, family and fellowship will ensure that the Davis/Larson family will have plenty of people at their test to show loving support and encouragement. Twin Dragons and all the studios of Region 7 wish this family the very best when they test in Charlotte, NC this April!

Where can Leadership Take You?
Under the guidance of Master Wilson Smith, Zach Ross began Tang Soo Do training at age five and has continued through to E Dan.  Mr. Ross is embarking on an incredible adventure in learning and cultural diversity.  Full story...
